Changing Consumables - Lexmark

How to change consumables in your Lexmark MFD or printer.

If MFDs

Including model - CX522, CX421, CX622

Changing toner 

1. Open the top of the printer from the right-hand side
2. Lift the green flap to release the toner
3. Remove old toner and dispose of this
4. Insert the new toner until this clicks into place
5. Close the lid of the printer

Changing the waste toner bottle

1. Open the top of the printer from the right-hand side
2. Open the front side of the printer
3. Remove the bottom panel on the right-hand side
4. Remove the used waste toner bottle
   1. To avoid spilling this, keep in an upright position
   2. Dispose of this used bottle
5. Insert new waste toner bottle
6. Replace side panel and close side and front panels

Replacing a black imaging kit

1. Open the top of the printer from the right-hand side
2. Open the front side of the printer
3. Remove the bottom panel on the right-hand side
4. Remove the waste toner bottle and place carefully on a flat surface
   1. To avoid spilling this, keep in an upright pos
5. Remove toner cartridges and place to the side
6. Remove the used imaging unit by lifting blue tabs and pulling this out of the machine
7. Remove the yellow, cyan and magenta developer units from the used kit and place these in the new imaging kit along side the black developer unit
8. Place new imaging unit into the machine, pulling down blue tabs to secure the kit
9. Insert toner cartridges and waste toner bottle
10. Replace side panel and close side and front panels

Replacing a black and colour imaging kit

1. Open the top of the printer from the right-hand side
2. Open the front side of the printer
3. Remove the bottom panel on the right-hand side
4. Remove the waste toner bottle and place it carefully on a flat surface
   1. To avoid spilling this, keep in an upright pos
5. Remove toner cartridges and place to the side
6. Remove the used imaging unit by lifting blue tabs and pulling this out of the machine
7. Place new imaging unit into the machine, pulling down blue tabs to secure the kit
   1. Do not touch underside of the kit or expose the underside to light
8. Insert toner cartridges and waste toner bottle
9. Replace side panel and close side and front panels
